Overheard

So there i was, in the deli of the Opelousas wal-mart, waiting for my three-quarters of a pound of Cajun spiced turkey. Two women, standing over a vat of hot grease, carefully attended to the frying chicken fingers. One said to the other, “And that woman, who work here? Her son done hit my cousin in the eye with a gun. And his eyeball came clean out it’s socket. And lemme tell you, that hurt my feelings so bad…”

And, it’s done. Finally. My 365 project. One photo per day for a year. Was fun, I’m glad I did it, but I’m glad it’s over. Remembering at 11:45pm that you haven’t taken a photo for the day doesn’t exactly lend itself to a great photograph. But still, somehow, I actually managed to pull it off. Some photos are great (to me, anyway), others not so much. But there they are.

Making stuff. It’s what I’ve been doing lately. Bread, cheese, chocolates, t-shirts, prints, maps. Plans. I like it.

Been a while since i last posted.. Easter led right into Balfa Camp, which led into Festival International, which led into the last week of school and final exams, which led into a trip to Missouri. But all the while, my garden was hard at work. And now I am enjoying home grown tomatoes just about every day!
